Who it helps
This treatment is specifically for a tooth that has become discolored or darkened following root canal therapy. Because the discoloration originates inside the pulp chamber, external whitening treatments will not work. We target the inside of the tooth rather than the outer enamel.
What to expect
Dr. Li begins with an examination and X-rays to ensure the root canal is stable. She then places a whitening agent directly inside the tooth. You will wear a temporary seal while the material works. This process may be repeated until we reach your desired shade.
Aftercare instructions
Once the tooth reaches the correct color, we remove the bleaching agent and place a final permanent natural white filling. You will leave our office with written care instructions. If anything feels unusual, you have a direct line to our Irvine studio.
